In the age of streaming and social media, are TV ads still worth it?

According to a new report from Tenetic and CivicScience, 43% of U.S. adults say TV is the most acceptable place for advertising, outpacing digital platforms like social media (29%) and the internet (28%). TV ads also rank high in influence, with 43% of viewers saying they’re likely to try a product or service they see advertised.

However, daily TV viewing habits vary widely by generation, and that gap is only continuing to increase:
– 82% of Baby Boomers watch TV daily
– 57% of Gen X
– Just 26% of Gen Z

Despite skepticism from some (e.g., 37% feel TV advertisers “don’t know anything about them”), TV remains a powerful platform, especially for strategically reaching older demographics.
